Hart Technical Solutions - ERP/SFA/CRM Software
Software solution models can be client-server, online or a combination of both. A client-server model will typically consist of a server (or server farm) that holds your software and databases. Client (or user) computers will connect to your server using software installed on each computer. Online models house all software functionality and data on a server and a user connects to the software using a standard web browser such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and others – there is no client-side software to install. Combinations of these tow models are typically seen when a business wants online capabilities added to client-server software.
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software is the technological backbone of most companies that have expanded beyond spreadsheets. ERP systems offer the capability to house corporate data such as accounting (payables, receivables, purchasing), inventory, product manufacturing and assembly, supplier data, warehouse and shipping functions, and real-time and predictive reporting. An advanced ERP will also interface with your Internet and Intranet websites to supply and receive data such as online orders, returns and the like.
Examples of ERP products are SAP, Sage, OpenTaps, Oracle and PeopleSoft.
Sales Force Automation (SFA) takes the sales process and attempts to automate many of the functions. Regardless of the product or service, most sales cycles go through the same steps. Some of these steps are goal setting, prospecting, qualifying, making offers and closing. Using software to assist in these sometimes very involved and long-term functions can provide better closing rates, more time for prospecting, detailed case history and analysis and team involvement.
Using smart phones, tablets, portable computers and home office systems, SAF data can be entered, tracked and acted upon in real time.
Examples of SFA offerings are Siebel and SalesForce.com.
